Sculpture

In the fall semester 2009, I had the opportunity to take a sculpture class. We worked with different mediums, from bronze (lost wax project) to wire and paper to stone. I think that one of my favorites was working with stone.

Sun and Moon (bronze, 2009)
Sonce in Luna (bron, 2009)

The first sculpture was lost wax. It is dedicated to my best friend, whose name means Sun and Moon. It represents Sun piercing Moon through its back.

Prva skulptura je izgubljeni vosek. Posvečena je mojemu najboljšemu prijatelju, čigar ime pomeni Sonce in Luna. Skulptura predstvalja Sonce kako je preluknjalo Luno.

Bean (stone, 2009)
Fižol (kamen, 2009)

I decided that I would like to use a bean as a symbol of life. Bean is a seed from which new life begins. It is a symbol for creation. A tale of life is written in it, therefore I opened its back side to have it look like a book; a book of life. Front view of the bean is a shape of a heart; love and life that comes from a little seed.
